Five things your Ford can tell you before you even open the door

A Ford earns its reputation on big days: hauling gear, towing, taking the family away, or getting through a demanding work schedule. Yet some of the most useful ownership features are designed for ordinary mornings.

On a compatible connected vehicle, the Ford App can give you a quick picture of what is happening before you walk outside.

A one-minute check may save an extra stop, answer a nagging question or help you leave on time.

1. Do I have enough fuel? Or charge?

Open Vehicle Status and you can see fuel or battery level and estimated range. That is useful when the next driver is not the person who parked the vehicle, or when yesterday's plans used more fuel than expected. Instead of discovering the situation after you buckle in, you can decide whether to leave earlier, plan a fuel stop or, for an electric Ford, check whether more charging is needed.

2. Are the tyres ready for today?

On vehicles fitted with a compatible tyre-pressure monitoring system, the app can display tyre pressures. This is especially handy before a long drive, a towing day or a morning when the vehicle will be carrying people and equipment. It does not replace checking the tyre placard, the owner's manual or the tyres themselves, but it can provide an early prompt that something deserves attention before departure.

3. Is the vehicle trying to tell me something?

Vehicle Health Alerts can surface selected information such as oil-life, electrical, transmission, exhaust-system or tyre-pressure notifications, depending on the vehicle. The real benefit is not simply seeing an alert-it is seeing it while there is still time to act. You may be able to investigate the message, contact a Ford Dealer or adjust your plans instead of first noticing it when you are already running late.

4. Can I make the cabin more comfortable?

On compatible automatic vehicles, remote start lets you start the vehicle from your phone and prepare the cabin using its climate settings. On a hot Australian afternoon, that can mean beginning the cooling process before everyone climbs in. The vehicle remains locked after a remote start and still requires the key before it can be driven. Ford advises using the function responsibly, only in a well-ventilated area and with awareness of the vehicle's surroundings.

5. Did I lock it? And where did I park?

That small moment of doubt can arrive after you have reached the office, entered the shops or settled into bed. With a compatible connected Ford, the app can check lock status and remotely lock or unlock the doors. Vehicle Locator can also show the vehicle's position when location settings are enabled-useful at airports, events, large shopping centres or when a vehicle is shared within a household or business. For households or businesses that share a vehicle, authorised users can also be given app access, helping the right person check information or use compatible remote functions without relying on a single phone.

Before your next drive, open the Ford App and look at Vehicle Status. Check the range, glance at the tyres, review any alerts and confirm the doors are locked. These are not dramatic features, and that is precisely why they can be so valuable: they reduce the small uncertainties that interrupt real days.
